Helen Arthur and Corisande Albert celebrate their creative friendship and mutual admiration for their practices in painting, printmaking and ceramics. Both artists are informed by their location living in the semi-wild Welsh borders landscape. They recognise how together their work creates conversation and embraces the natural influences of river, mountain and woodland.
Helen Arthur is a mixed-media painter and printmaker who runs Skirrid Studio & Gallery in Longtown, Herefordshire. She’s a tutor and directs community-led art events on the Welsh borders between Abergavenny and Hay on Wye.
Corisande Albert is a ceramicist making functional pieces in stoneware and porcelain. She uses a mix of glazes, brushed and dipped, to reflect the muted tones of the Welsh landscape of her home farm by the River Wye, near Hay. She also runs workshops and courses through Cabalva Ceramics, her pottery studio.
