‘Four artists share their love of colour’
15 - 28 July 2026
Open daily 10am - 5pm
(Final Tuesday 10am - 1pm)
Private View, Friday 17th July from 6 - 8pm. All Welcome
This exhibition brings together four artists whose work explores colour, texture, form and expressive mark-making through painting, collage and ceramics. Inspired by landscape, memory, music and the natural world, each artist responds intuitively to their materials, creating vibrant and distinctive works that celebrate observation, experimentation and the joy of creative process. From expressive and abstract compositions to layered collages and sculptural ceramic forms, the exhibition invites viewers to connect with familiar subjects in new and uplifting ways.
Jenny Westbrook
Jenny is a mixed media artist from Cheltenham UK. I make colourful mixed media abstract paintings and sometimes collage. My work is intuitive and grows from the initial marks and shapes through a process of layering, editing and changing direction. I borrow the rhythm and energy from the music I listen to whilst working. I’m aiming for good strong composition, great colours, balance and sometimes humour and playfulness. I want the viewer to relate to my paintings in their own way and for my work to uplift the atmosphere in their rooms.
‘If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint’. Edward Hopper.
Molly Abbott (Ceramic Artist)
My work is related to the natural world using shapes and colours we see every time we walk in the countryside or along a beach. The forms I create are usually based on familiar shapes which are altered to give the piece energy.
The work for this current exhibition is based around “the bowl’. This form is so common that we take it for granted, without realising that there are more variations and usages than we can imagine. Here, I have selected some to illustrate this, using texture and colour to enhance the overall appearance. I believe that bowls are not only useful but are to be seen as a form to be admired. The inner surface is often the point of interest and we usually fill a bowl with food or drink or perhaps keys, making it impossible to see it as a whole!
Andy Goodwin
Andy is a contemporary abstract collagist and painter, based in Gloucestershire.
His work develops from and is inspired by landscape and seascape. Using found and painted papers, torn and cut pieces, he works to portray changing light and unexpected colour, transient and permanent features of our world.
Completed works are the result of a process which includes observation, recording, contemplation and development, working with and responding to media used.
Paul McKee
My paintings in oil, watercolour and mixed media and drawings in charcoal and ink are expressive interpretations of familiar subjects – , landscape, still-life, the nude, ancient myths and stories.
The joy of mark making, the magic of colour and elements of chance, lead to distinctive and unusual images.
I create collections of work, which freely interpret my visual experience – through drawings, photographs, memories and feelings – leading to colourful and unique expressions.
