Andy Sylvester read painting at Wolverhampton Polytechnic 1984-87. Since graduating he has worked as a practicing artist. He has work in public and private collections in the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA.
He builds his images over time in rich colourful strokes. His work uses photography as a source material, his own or images he finds on social media.
The work in this exhibition explores his fascination with light and colour. From portraits and life studies to the intensity of club lighting and a nighttime world of DJs, drag queens, gogo boys and leathermen
